A Mural That Preaches, and Doors That Keep Opening
Dear praying friends, Greetings from Durazno! Winter has settled over the interior, but the Lord keeps warming hearts on our downtown street. Hardly a week passes without someone stopping in front of the Good Shepherd mural to read the words of Jesus: "Come unto me, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Some take photos. A few have stepped inside to ask what this place is. In a nation this weary, those words preach even when we are asleep. Our midweek home Bible studies continue to be the heartbeat of the work. Two new families have begun attending the Wednesday study, and one father — a truck driver who almost never has a free evening — joined us for an asado and stayed for the conversation about eternal things afterward. Please pray for him by name before the Lord, who knows it. Jo Anna's counseling load has grown this term, especially among young mothers. Pray for wisdom as she opens the Scriptures with women carrying very heavy burdens. Thank you for standing with us. Your prayers make this possible. In the Shepherd's care, Paul & Jo Anna Harmon

Current need: The fourteen foster children now scattered across Uruguay — that the gospel seed would take root

Fourteen Children, One Faithful God
Dear friends, As we look back over this past term, one number keeps humbling us: fourteen. That is how many foster children from the home across the street came through our doors, heard the Scriptures, and were discipled — children who had never once been told that God made them and loves them. Most have now moved on to new homes in other parts of Uruguay. We may never see some of them again this side of heaven. But the Word of God does not return void, and we are asking the Lord of the harvest to water every seed. Our open-air vacation Bible school brought dozens of neighborhood children to the property, complete with puppets, songs, and the gospel plainly told. Several mothers lingered afterward to talk with Jo Anna. The congregation continues to mature. Pray with us as we look toward raising up national leaders — men who can one day shepherd this flock and plant new ones throughout the interior. Grateful for you, Paul & Jo Anna Harmon

Eighteen Years — and Praying for Twenty More
Dear praying friends, This month marks a milestone that leaves us amazed at God's kindness: eighteen years in Uruguay. Paul also just turned fifty — and rather than slowing down, we find ourselves praying for roughly twenty more years of service. There is so much still to do. When we arrived, Sunday church attendance was culturally foreign here. The work grew the only way it could: around kitchen tables, over shared mate, in living rooms where secular Uruguayans felt free to ask honest questions. From those living rooms God built a congregation — and then gave that congregation a building in the heart of downtown Durazno. Now we are asking Him for co-laborers. After eighteen years, we are praying earnestly for another couple or missionary — Uruguayan or American — to join this work and help it reproduce in the towns of the interior where there is no gospel witness at all.
